The running bug comes in seasons.
During the summer, any effects from the running bug seem to subside for a while. With the rising temps, I eagerly take on other fast-moving sports like cycling or even swimming, whenever I get the chance (hardly often enough!) I like to adopt new fitness activities like hiking or kettlebells. Activities that don’t require long stretches of time spent baking in the sun (hello, fair skin!)
And then autumn rolls around.
The leaves start changing color. The sky turns a luxurious blue. The warm sun is tampered with a cool, sassy breeze. And there it is. The running bug. It gets me every time.
Here in New England, the autumn days have been teasing us with winter temps (good gracious, even snow has made an appearance!) It’s a good thing the running bug seems to stick around, even through the chilly weather.
Hello, running bug. Here’s to a whole new season of running and eating and living.
